Antidepressant Includes Sexual Dysfunctioning
Clinical depression is not just grief or sadness, but it is an illness that can challenge the person’s ability to perform even routine daily activities. This can lead the person to contemplate or even commit suicide. Depression represents a burden for the person and his family. There are several types of mood disorders that exit in depression which include Major depression and Dysthymia. Major depression is a change in mood that lasts for months. It is one of the most severe types of depression. This depression interferes with the person’s normal functioning. Dysthymia is less severe than the major depression but usually goes on a longer period often for years. The symptoms usually do not completely disrupt the person’s normal activities.
What Causes Depression?
The cause of depression is not known although several theories exist. Depression is due to reduce function of one or more neurotransmitter chemicals in the brain such as norepinephrine, dopamine or serotonin. Certain factors that affect some people are more likely to experience depression include the following: Lower socioeconomic status, Personality, Family history of depression, Medical conditions, Substance abuse, Lack of social support, Inadequate diet, Advanced age and Sexual abuse. Depression interferes with the ability to perform routine daily tasks and take care of oneself. Appetite changes, weight loss or gain, Energy loss, inability to sleep or excessive sleep may accompany depression. Suicidal thoughts may eventually occur.
Sexual Dysfunction & Antidepressant
Sexual Dysfunction is a stage where the couple has a problem while enjoying sexual activity. It is the most common side effect which is especially with the persons having problems with sexual desire or lack of interest in sex. These side effects usually can last for months and years. This symptom can be called as POST SSRI Sexual Dysfunction. Bupropion, Apomorphine, Nefazodone, Nitroglycerin, Moclobemide and MAOIs are some of the receptors used by the physicians in the process of such symptoms. Antidepressant is a class of drugs used primarily to treat depression. Some of theses drugs have also been found to be useful in the prevention of headache. Antidepressant is a medication used to relieve or prevent the symptoms of mood or anxiety disorders.
