Extra Strong Magnetic Jewelry Clasps

While making necklaces and bracelets some objects are necessary to bind the two ends together that can sustain repeated clasping and unclasping of the binding. Because of this necklace shall stay secured around the neck and bracelets around the wrist. The small fittings that that will hold two things together in a necklace or bracelets are called as the clasps.

These things may be made up of different thing like metal or the magnetic materials. The clasps made up from the metal are difficult to fasten and unfasten and there is more probability of getting entangled with the cloths or some other things therefore use of these magnetic clasps.

In the magnetic clasps on the both ends, magnets are used. In this magnetic force will work to form clasps. In this case, for fastening purpose two opposite poles are used. As each magnet are having two poles south and north poles. Therefore, in one end one pole is used where as in other end another pole is used. There is attraction between two opposite poles and this will be used for fastening the two ends.

When these magnets are brought together the opposite attractive force will develop in two magnets. This attractive force is strong in perpendicular direction to the interface region; where as the magnetic force is much weaker in the parallel direction to the interface.

In the traditional jewelries this different had not been taken in to account and therefore those clasps were much difficult for fastening and unfastening as those used the magnetic field perpendicular to the interface direction.

However, nowadays, the clasps that are in use may have opposite male and female apiece which provides a mechanical resistance for the application of a force that is parallel to interface direction. In this case these clasps will not be separated, as the small parallel force to the interface is present. This is the disadvantage of these clasps that they cannot be separated.

Further more the traditional clasps were not provided with the proper security measures which was necessary to prevent the damage or loss of the jewelry that can accidentally occur because of these clasps.

Therefore these days, the clasps that are coming have overcome all these problems and are in demands
