Travel During Pregancy
You can certain travel during your pregnancy, if you are a healthy and a fit person, proceeding on the path of uncomplicated pregnancy. The only thing is that you need to take some precautions. You need to take the following precautions while traveling during pregnancy:
* See that you have completed your vaccinations properly on the specified date before you begin your journey.
* Avoid traveling to places situated at high altitudes by the end of your pregnancy period.
* See that the place where you are going to travel has enough medical facilities and well equipped hospitals, in case of emergencies or caesarean deliveries.
* Avoid eating raw foods and salads. Eat only properly cooked nutritionally rich and balanced food. You cannot afford to become sick at those stages.
* Get your health insurance done if you are going to a place where medical facilities are very expensive. The insurance planning should also contain the medical costs for the newborn baby, as well.
* Do not practice adventure sports when you are going for a holiday during your pregnancy. Avoid scuba diving at any cost. Spend your hoi day time resting peacefully, lying back. Enjoy the nature’s beauty and get indulged much more in yourself and your baby than the outside world.
Traveling should be avoided for the first three months of pregnancy as this is a very delicate period. The risk of miscarriage is higher during this time. Traveling by air also poses some risks due to the changes in the air pressure, resulting into the damage of the uterus membranes. Before traveling by air, the expected mother must dress up comfortably; carry the required medicines and food needed during the travel.
Similarly, traveling by car is also not harmful, but must be avoided for the first three months. As the lady is not used to pregnancy, and so she gets fatigue and tired easily. For long journey, take frequent intervals and wear the safety belts for your safety. Carry the required snacks for preventing the feelings of nausea and also a pillow for relaxing comfortably.
In case, if you need to travel to foreign countries, complete your immunizations before you travel to avoid any complications. Also avoid traveling to places where there are chances of infections.
